Women in Global Health Austria
The Austrian Chapter of Women in Global Health (WGH) was founded in 2023 by a diverse and multidisciplinary group of women passionate about global health. Hosted by the European Health Forum Gastein, WGH Austria aims to create a community of engaged people across the country to jointly work towards achieving gender equality in global health leadership, and specifically for women working in the health sector in Austria. The WGH Austria Chapter welcomes people of all genders, ages, career levels, and health-related sectors. If you are an Austrian national or resident, or work in an Austria-based organisation with a focus on (global) health, we would love to hear from you!

Women in Global Health Austria Mentoring Programme
WGH Austria is dedicated to boosting female leadership and promoting gender equity in health professions. One key strategy employed to advance this objective is our Mentoring Programme, founded on principles of mutual learning and exchange.
Our 2024 Programme is currently underway and supporting materials for participants can be accessed in our WGH Austria Member Area.

The WGH European Chapters utilised an interactive workshop at the European Public Health Conference, held in Dublin in November 2023, to highlight the contribution female leaders are making during these times of conflict, with a particular focus on the experiences of Ukrainian healthcare workers.

26 September 2023
The WGH Austria Chapter Launch showcased three pioneering women in global health and introduced core members who are driving the chapters work plan and collective aims. A panel discussion then followed on the topics of One Health, migration and discrimination in the health sector, and Education and training of health professionals.
