Women in Global Health Austria Chapter Launch

Tuesday, 26 September 2023 | 14:45-15:45 | Conference Centre

We look forward to discussing the gendered dimension of a series of important public health topics with the audience:

  • One Health
  • Discrimination in the health sector
  • Paid and unpaid health workforce

Three expert members of the Austrian Chapter of Women in Global Health will assess why it is important to consider the above topics from a woman’s perspective, what main initiatives are ongoing in Austria, and what gaps remain to be bridged.

The aim of the WGH Austria Chapter Launch is to introduce the Chapter and its aims for Austria to the public health community gathered in Bad Hofgastein and to the online audience in the context of the European Health Forum Gastein. The Launch will showcase three pioneer women in Women in Global Health and will offer the opportunity to introduce three Chapter members and discuss ways of collaborating on the above topics. The Launch will also provide a networking opportunity for Chapter members and EHFG participants.

Women in Global Health (WGH) is a global movement that aims to create visibility for women working in global health and advocates for gender equity and gender transformative leadership in health. WGH provides an empowering environment for women from diverse backgrounds to engage in advocacy, policy development and leadership at the national level. The WGH Austria chapter aims to build alliances for women working in a range of (global) health professions, with a commitment to gender equality in global health leadership in Austria.

Participants can attend the Launch on-site free of fee.
