Policy in Evidence - Re-examining the connection - How to use evidence the smart way

Evidence matters for good political decision making – but its successful uptake greatly depends on effective communication between the researchers and knowledge-brokers supplying the evidence, and the decision makers aiming to translate it into practice.

In this workshop, we will explore how to frame and moderate this dialogue to foster a mutual understanding of needs that can help better (health) policies emerge. We will hear from organisations and individuals active in this field who can share insights and perspectives from across the European and national levels, and we will identify models of best practice and discuss their potential implementation in other EU-wide contexts – as well as engage attendees via the interactive conference tool Wisembly to gather their feedback and input on priorities we need to set.

Smart approaches are needed to utilise evidence for (health) policy in a way that really makes a difference to improving outcomes – and this workshop will examine what it takes to get there.
