Dr. Clemens Martin Auer has been the President of the European Health Forum Gastein since 2017. He started his career in the early 1990s as the Head of the political department of the Austrian conservative party. Having joined the Ministry of Health in 2004 as the Cabinet chief, he later switched to civil service and became Director General and later Special Envoy of Health at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection. Until May 2022, he served as Vice-Chair of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization in Geneva. Clemens' academic background is philosophy and political science.
