Freek Spinnewijn has been the director of FEANTSA since 2001, and President of the European Public Health Alliance (Epha) since 2018. FEANTSA, the European Federation of National Organisations Working with Homeless People, is a European network of NGOs working on the issue of homelessness, with members in 30 European countries. FEANTSA is the only major European network that focuses exclusively on homelessness at European level. Epha is a leading NGO alliance made up of public health NGOs, patient groups, health professionals and disease groups, working to improve health and strengthen the voice of public health in Europe.
