Session 4
Tuesday, 29 September 2026 | 18:00-19:00 | Conference Centre
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is recognised as a One Health priority within the European Health Union, linking human, animal, and environmental health, and as a cross-border threat requiring coordinated responses. The scope for action at the European level remains relatively constrained, as many relevant aspects – such as drug approval, antibiotic use, and hygiene standards – are already heavily regulated.
European public agencies nonetheless add value through coordination, data comparability, best practices, and research. The European Commission recently launched a European partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance to consolidate these efforts.
The session invites public health stakeholders, academia, industry, and civil society to join a panel discussion aimed at identifying their most urgent priorities in tackling the “silent AMR pandemic”. Interactive elements will ensure active audience engagement, allowing diverse perspectives to shape the dialogue in real time. Together, we aim to transform these insights into concrete actions that help shape European health policies.
