Information & Communication in Health

27-30 September 2000, Bad Gastein

The third EHFG took place in 2000 under the general motto "Information and Communication in Health" in Bad Hofgastein. The EHFG concept proved its value once again and the number of participants climbed to 473 with delegates representing 35 countries. During the EHFG 2000 possibilities to communicate high-quality information about health, risks and disease to citizens were discussed. Furthermore the increasingly significant role of IT applications in health systems was addressed and pros as well as cons were examined. The discussions about the future EU health strategy entered a decisive phase, the EHFG offering an excellent opportunity to put the EU Commission's proposals to a broader audience for debate.
