European Health Leadership Award 2023

2023 EDITION

The winner of the European Health Leadership Award (EHLA) 2023 is Fighting Fatigue Together - a network of healthcare organisations working on European, national, and local levels brought together by the European Patient Safety Foundation. Through their collaborative campaign, they aim to protect healthcare workers, protect patients, and ensure continuity of care.

"We are honoured to receive this award on behalf of all the people and organisations involved in the European 'Fighting Fatigue Together' campaign. Fatigue affects the well-being and safety of health professionals with greater intensity and on a larger scale than ever before, contributing to unprecedented levels of burnout, mental health problems and staff shortages.  Much needs to be done. This award encourages us to redouble our efforts to protect healthcare workers and their patients from fatigue-related risks and make this everyone's concern."

The winner receives prize money of €10.000. The European Health Leadership Award is organised by the European Health Forum Gastein and supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection.
