A New Leadership Award
The new European Health Leadership Award will recognise the achievements of individuals and organisations that display exceptional leadership in safeguarding or improving the health of people in Europe. It is our way of thanking them for what they do, enabling them to become an inspiration for others and supporting them in generating greater impact.
Each year, the EHLA will try to locate and support pioneering change-makers whose work represents efforts in line with the EHFG main theme.
The EHLA includes prize money of €10,000.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Sunday, 12th May 2019.
Call for Nominations - Disruptive Leaders
Shining the light on leaders that challenged the status-quo, catalysing change in their environment
For this year’s European Health Leadership Award, The European Health Forum Gastein is welcoming nominations of individuals and organisations that demonstrated transformative change for health and societal well-being. This year's theme, “A healthy dose of disruption”, is inviting to shine the light on leaders that challenged the status-quo, catalysing change in their environment.
A prize of € 10.000 will be awarded to individuals who generated a significant impact, be it for few or for many, with a clear vision for the future.
The Award will be presented at the 22nd European Health Forum Gastein, which will take place in Austria's Gastein Valley from 2nd to 4th October 2019. Shortlisted nominees and the winner will be invited to the Forum to share their stories and connect with leading European health policymakers.

The Award includes prize money of 10.000 EUR and is sponsored by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection.
Selection criteria
Nominated organisations and individuals must comply with the following criteria to be eligible for consideration:
- The nominee must be from one of the WHO Europe countries.
- The nominee doesn't need to be working in health sector, but their impact needs to be directed to improvement of health of the population.
- The nominee needs to show extraordinary leadership that has led to positive change in European public health.
- The nominee's work needs to be an exceptional display of work related to the EHFG main theme.
- The nominee needs to agree with the nomination in order for the nomination to be taken into account.*
The call for nominations will be published on the EHFG website and will be open for everyone.
*The EHFG will take on the role of contacting the nominee regarding their wish to participate.
Jury
The jury panel includes representatives of the EHFG Board and Advisory Committee. The jury is invited to participate in the selection of a shortlist and to reach a decision and announce the winner.
