Young European Voices

The future of health systems sustainability

Friday, 2 October 2020 | 11:30-13:00 | Room 1

Organised by MSD and Johnson & Johnson

As the world grapples with a public health crisis that has stretched healthcare systems, there is an unparalleled opportunity for renewal. In this session, future policy leaders from a range of different European youth movements (including the European Health Parliament, Young Coalition for Prevention and Vaccination, Young Forum Gastein, Young European Patients’ Forum, EU40 and Young European Leaders) will unite to bring their varied perspectives to some of the most critical issues facing healthcare.

The session will start with an engaging panel session that provides a platform for these expert voices to enter into a dialogue with high-level representatives from European institutions, focusing on two crucial topics for the short and long-term future of healthcare: health system resilience and digital health transformation. The second part of the session will focus on co-creation among the young leaders, and highlight their discussions as they tackle these two challenges - designing a citizen engagement campaign addressing healthcare resilience and young people as independent actors, as well as a comprehensive set of digital health policy recommendations to form the foundation of a youth-endorsed European manifesto for digital health excellence.

Session participants are invited to follow these future leaders as they set out their expectations for change, and contribute to the session outcomes through polling, comments and questions. Come and join this new generation of leading voices as they look to the future of European health policy!
