Time to place the health workforce centre stage

Mission critical for health systems in Europe

Tuesday, 27 September 2022 | 11:00-12:30 | Conference Centre

Organised by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe & the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies

The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the centrality of health and care workers to deliver quality health services and to build resilient health systems.

We will take the opportunity of this session to present the main findings of the WHO European report on health and care workforce “Health and care workforce in Europe: Time to act”. At the same time, we look forward debating with the audience and panellists the priority policy actions to strengthen the health workforce in Europe. We will discuss the role of the European Health Union in the implementation of these priority actions and in responding to changing health and health workforce needs in Europe, including its role supporting the EU accessing countries in putting the health workforce centre stage.
