Gruber, Gabriele

Gabriele Gruber is Senior Health Expert at the Austrian National Public Health Institute (GÖG), department Health, Society and Equity. She studied sociology with focus on organisations and health.
Her key areas of work are Health in All Policies (HiAP) processes, Health (in) Impact Assess-ment, (social) Determinants of Health and Health Equity. She is leading the expert support team for the oldest HiAP process in Austria, the Austrian Health Targets. In connection to this, she is also working on the Health Targets Monitoring and supports the Ministry of Labor, So-cial Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection on their work for the Agenda 2030 on Sus-tainable Development (SDGs). She has also experience on international collaborations within EUPHA or EU Joint Actions and is Young Gasteiner Alumni. Gabriele is also member of the steering committee of the EUPHA HIA section. Since 2024, she is main scientific contact for Austria in the EU Joint Action Prevent NCD, in which she is also a leading a task on Health (in) Impact Assessments.
